Who Takes Part

Everyone is Welcome. Relay is a community event and welcomes families and businesses to enter teams. Business involvement is encouraged and the event has received tremendous support from the corporate sector - who utilize the event as an opportunity for team building and to demonstrate social responsibility.

Teams comprise of 10 - 15 people who take turns at keeping their baton moving for 24 hours, while a party atmosphere is created with entertainment, camping out and lots of spot prizes. There are no age restrictions however any participant under the age of 18 years must have adult supervision at all times.

Each team appoints a Team Captain and he/she attends Team Captain meetings held by the organising committee. Critical information about Relay For Life is passed on at Team Captains meetings. Team captains then organise team meetings to see how fundraising is going and to check on organisational aspects.

Each team member is required to pay a registration/commitment fee; which is often paid by the company/employer if they are sponsoring the team.

Official Relay For Life T-Shirts are supplied to all registered team members.
