Each Team Member is encouraged to raise $100-$200 for their team fundraising effort. The Cancer Society provides valuable fundraising tips, support resources and secure facilities for on-line donations.

Relay For Life is not a 'pledge-style' event, as participants do not seek promises of money for each lap completed.

Most teams choose to fundraise as a team, aiming for a grand total rather than individual amounts. Donations are collected prior to the event so that most of the money is banked before Relay begins. All funds banked are credited to the team total so that each team can track its success.

When you register through our website, a Relay For Life homepage will be set up for your team. Your Team Captain will be emailed a thank you acknowledgement and receipt along with a login and password which gives access to Team Captain and Team Member pages. This allows your Team Captain to:
  • Email Team Members with relevant information and support
  • Update Team Members details online
  • Add new Team Members
  • Update T-shirt sizes
  • See how much the team has raised on-line
A Relay For Life homepage is also set-up for Team Members to fundraise by helping them:
  • Process credit card donations on-line
  • Issue receipts and send thank you messages
