
New Zealand's unique climate and clear skies means that for October until March we are regularly exposed to extremely high levels of UV Radiation, even on a cloudy day. Our skin cancer rates are the highest in the world. So its really important that people taking part in Relay For Life protect themselves and their children form the sun.
The Cancer Society encourages Relay participants to come prepared remembering that this event is `being held during peak UV hours 11am - 4pm. Keep an eye on the UVI (ultraviolet index) boards - anything above 6 means its time to:
