Relay For Life is an Auahi Kore/Smokefree event.

The advantages of having a smokefree/auahi kore event include:

  • Protecting non-smokers from the dangers of other people's tobacco smoke
  • A safer and cleaner environment for members and supporters
  • A healthy, family-friendly environment
  • Catering for the majority of people who do not smoke - that's 75% of the population
  • Positive role modelling behaviour not smoking around kids means they are much less likely to ever start smoking.

Be Smokefree at the Relay

These days smokefree sporting environments are commonplace. The Westpac Trust stadium in Wellington, Waikato Stadium, Rugby Park stadium in Invercargill, and Rugby League Park in Christchurch are all totally smokefree.
